Watercolor in Found Antique Frame with Convex Glass. 18" x 24". Story below ...

"Mama Em" was exhibited by the Georgetown Art Center into their 10th Annual Art Hop Exhibition and Statewide Competition!

This piece is named "Mama Em" after my grandmother and namesake 👵🏼. In Roseville, AR, in the mid-1930s, schoolteachers weren't allowed to marry, so she wed my grandfather in secret and they lived across the street from one another. Until they relocated to Little Rock and could live together, he would collect wildflowers and leave them on her front porch. 🌿 I'm a sucker for a romantic.
